Key Points for Selecting a Gas Meter

1. Determine the Meter's Gas Usage Requirements

Select a gas meter with an appropriate flow rate range based on the total gas consumption of your home or facility's gas appliances (such as gas stoves, water heaters, and wall-mounted boilers). Common household gas meter models include G1.6, G2.5, and G4, each corresponding to a different maximum flow rate.

For larger gas usage (such as commercial or industrial users), a higher-flow commercial gas meter (G6 or higher) is recommended.

2. Consider Future Gas Usage Growth

When selecting a gas meter, allow for margin to accommodate the potential increase in gas-consuming appliances or gas demand. It's recommended that the maximum flow rate of the gas meter be 20%-70% of the actual maximum gas usage to ensure long-term accuracy.

3. Matching Gas Pressure and Pipeline Specifications

Home gas pipelines are typically low-pressure (operating pressure not exceeding 50kPa), so a gas meter suitable for low-pressure environments should be selected. Furthermore, the gas meter's interface specifications (e.g., DN15, DN20, etc.) should match the pipeline to ensure a reliable connection.

4. Selecting the Appropriate Gas Meter Type

Diaphragm gas meters: Suitable for homes and small businesses, they offer high accuracy and are easy to install, but they have a relatively small range.

Roots gas meters: Suitable for medium- to large-scale commercial users or locations with high gas consumption, they offer high accuracy and a wide range, making them suitable for high- and medium-pressure metering.

Turbine gas meters: Suitable for industrial users or high-volume applications, they offer high accuracy and intelligence, but they require higher gas cleanliness.

5. Focus on Metering Precision and Accuracy

Preferably select gas meters with a high accuracy grade (e.g., Grade 1.5 or higher) to ensure accurate measurement and avoid cost disputes caused by errors. Regular calibration and maintenance of gas meters are also essential to ensure long-term stable operation.

6.Consider Intelligent Features

If local meter reading, prepayment management or real-time monitoring functions are required, you can choose intelligent products such as IC card diaphragm gas meters, remote transmission diaphragm gas meters or ultrasonic gas meters to facilitate management for users and gas companies.
