Pressure loss factors

Except for unobstructed water meters (such as ultrasonic water meters), most water meters may need to change the flow direction, or install static or movable detection components in the circulation channel, resulting in unrecoverable pressure as the water flow changes. flow. The pressure loss is sometimes as high as tens of kPa. First, the allowable pressure loss at the maximum flow rate should be determined based on the pumping capacity of the pipeline system and the inlet pressure of the water meter, and the water meter should be selected accordingly. Excessive pressure loss due to improper selection often affects process efficiency. For water delivery meters with a pipe diameter greater than 500mm, the energy loss caused by pressure loss should be considered to avoid excessive pressure and increased pumping costs. The cost of pumping a meter measuring a large pressure loss in just a few years often exceeds the cost of purchasing a meter with a low pressure loss, even though it is more expensive.


Signal output factors

The signal output and display of smart water meters are summarized as: ① flow rate; ② total amount; ② average flow rate; ④ point flow rate. Some smart water meters output current analog quantities, while others output pulse quantities. Analog output is generally considered suitable for process control and is easy to connect with control loop units such as regulating valves; pulse output, suitable for total and high-precision measurement of flow. Long-distance signal transmission pulse output has higher transmission accuracy than analog output. The pattern and amplitude of the output signal should also be compatible with other equipment such as control interfaces, data loggers, alarm devices, circuit breaker protection circuits and data transmission systems.
