How to Install the Gas Meter
The installation of a gas meter is not a simple task. It is necessary to strictly follow the specifications to ensure the quality of installation and safe use.
01 It should be installed in a well-ventilated place indoors where it is convenient for checking meters, closing valves and maintenance.
02 It is strictly prohibited to install in the following places:
(1) Bedrooms, toilets, bathrooms, and any other living and resting rooms; (2) Places where the ambient temperature is higher than 45°C; (3) Places that are often humid; (4) Places where flammable, explosive, corrosive, or radioactive materials are stored; (5) Places with obvious vibration effects; (6) Refuge floors and safe evacuation stairwells in high-rise buildings.

03 The horizontal distance between the gas meter and the fuel appliance (water heater or gas stove) shall not be less than 30 cm; the horizontal distance between the gas meter and the electrical socket (switch) facility shall not be less than 20 cm.
04 The recommended installation height of the gas meter: the bottom of the meter is 1.4 to 1.8 meters from the ground. When installed at a low position, the bottom of the gas meter shall not be less than 10 cm from the ground.
05 If the gas meter needs to be installed in a cabinet, it should meet the requirements of meter reading, maintenance and replacement, and the cabinet must have the function of natural ventilation.
2. Requirements for the installation process
01 Horizontal installation The gas meter should be installed horizontally without tilting to ensure accurate measurement.
02 Firm connection and good sealing The gas meter and pipeline should use special gas connection pipes and sealants or gaskets and other materials to ensure firmness, reliability, good sealing, and no looseness or leakage.
3. Acceptance after installation
01 Air tightness test After the gas meter is installed, the gas company must conduct an air tightness test and confirm that there is no leakage before it can be put into use.
4. Other matters needing attention
01 The installation of professional gas meters should be performed by professional personnel of the gas company. Users are not allowed to dismantle or install gas meters privately to avoid safety hazards.
02 Emergency response If you find any abnormal phenomena such as damage, leakage, etc. on the gas meter, gas pipeline and accessories, you should immediately call gas company to report the problem. Users must not handle the problem without authorization to avoid danger.
