Comparison of steel shell and aluminum shell gas meters
There are the following differences between steel shell gas meters and aluminum shell gas meters:
Volume and space: Steel shell gas meters of the same model are usually slightly larger in volume than aluminum shell gas meters, and have larger internal space.
Motor movement and shell connection: Steel shell gas meters generally use independent motor movements, and the lower shell can precipitate impurities or moisture in the gas; the shell of aluminum shell gas meters is integrated with the motor movement, the internal space of the meter is small, and the gas quality requirements are high.
Material characteristics: Aluminum shell gas meters have excellent corrosion resistance and stronger stability; steel shell gas meters also have good high temperature and corrosion resistance through electrostatic spraying process.
Cost: Aluminum alloys are more expensive than steel plates, and the use of steel shells can effectively reduce product costs and improve product competitiveness.
Measuring accuracy: There is no essential difference in the measuring accuracy between the two, and both meet the relevant national standards, but in actual use, due to the large internal space of the steel shell meter, the precipitation ability of impurities and moisture is stronger, which may be more conducive to maintaining the measuring accuracy in long-term use.
Applicable environment: The corrosion resistance of aluminum shell gas meters makes them more advantageous in environments with high air humidity and salt corrosion, such as coastal cities; steel shell gas meters can also adapt to a variety of environments after electrostatic spraying, but in some special environments with extremely high requirements for corrosion resistance, they may not be as good as aluminum shell meters.
