Advantages of Ultrasonic Gas Meters
After more than 200 years of development and iteration, traditional gas meters have evolved from diaphragm meters to IC card meters and IoT meters, achieving significant breakthroughs in intelligent bill payment and remote meter reading. However, their core functionality still suffers from a fatal weakness: Low measurement accuracy.
The metering module of traditional gas meters primarily utilizes a mechanical diaphragm structure. Mechanical wear, temperature, pressure, and membrane aging can all affect measurement accuracy. Furthermore, improper transportation and installation can damage the movement, leading to inaccurate measurement.

Against this backdrop, gas meters based on ultrasonic sensors have abandoned the mechanical diaphragm structure, bringing gas metering accuracy to a new level.


When gas flows through a pipeline, ultrasonic waves interact with gas particles, causing some of the ultrasound to be scattered or absorbed. A receiver receives the ultrasound waves after they have passed through the gas flow and measures the propagation time or frequency change. By measuring the propagation time or frequency change of ultrasonic waves, the gas flow velocity and volume can be calculated. Using the flow velocity and time, gas consumption can be calculated.

1. Ultrasonic principle, temperature and pressure compensation, and precise measurement.
Using the ultrasonic measurement principle, the meter features built-in temperature and pressure compensation, making it unaffected by ambient temperature and minimizing pressure drop. Its fully electronic structure eliminates mechanical wear. With a resolution of 0.001 m³ and an accuracy of up to 1.0, it provides more precise measurement and effectively reduces distribution errors caused by inaccurate metering.
2. Intelligent monitoring, anomaly identification, and automatic processing.
It intelligently detects gas quality, flow velocity, and temperature. It automatically closes the valve when it detects abnormalities such as continuous low flow (gas leak), reverse flow (reverse installation), overflow, prolonged constant flow (forgot to turn off the gas), prolonged no flow, high temperature, water ingress, or abnormal disassembly (gas to air). It can also activate a gas alarm and intelligent shut-off device to ensure comprehensive gas safety.
